Villa Orlaya is perfectly perched above the enchanting bay of Kalami, on the tranquil northeast coast of Corfu and just a 45-minute drive from the airport. Just a short three-minute drive away, Kalami offers a charming selection of local amenities, including boat hire services, three quaint family-run general stores, a fishmonger, a gift shop, and an inviting array of bars and tavernas. Among them, the renowned ‘White House’ Taverna and the effortlessly cool ‘Callao’ stand out as must-visit spots. 

 

Adjacent to Kalami, the idyllic Yialiskari Beach boasts crystal-clear waters, perfect for a refreshing swim, and an aptly named snack bar called ‘Crystals’. Meanwhile, the picturesque Agni Bay, famous for its outstanding waterfront tavernas; ‘Toula’s’, Agni Taverna’, and ‘Nikolas Taverna’ is best reached by sea taxi or boat from Kalami Jetty, adding to the allure of dining by the sea. 

 

For a more serene retreat, Kerasia Beach, just 6 km away, offers a peaceful setting with a charming seafood taverna, ideal for a leisurely meal. A little further, at San Stefano (14 mins drive from the villa), visitors will find a mix of tavernas, bars, and a gently vibrant nightlife scene with two fantastic supermarkets and a small gift shop. Dining highlights here include ‘Wave Bar’ perfect for families and the highly recommended ‘Eucalyptus’. Further down the coast, ‘Glyfa Taverna’, ‘Thalassa’ and ‘Oliva’, together with the many enticing restaurants lining Kassiopi Harbour promise exceptional culinary experiences. 

 

Beyond the beaches and charming villages, Corfu is steeped in history, playing a vital role in Greece’s ancient past. A visit to Old Perithia or the cosmopolitan Corfu Town is a must; wander through its atmospheric narrow streets, indulge in boutique shopping, and unwind with a drink at the iconic Liston, soaking in the timeless elegance of the island. â€‹
